Heselden, A.J. and Melinek, S.J., 1975. THE EARLY STAGES OF FIRE GROWTH IN A COMPARTMENT A CO-OPERATIVE RESEARCH PROGRAMME OF THE CONSEIL INTERNATIONAL DU BATIMENT (COMMISSION W 14). FIRST PHASE. Fire Research Notes 1029
ABSTRACT
This note analyses the data from laboratories taking part in an international co-operative research programme studying the early stages of fire spread in a compartment particularly the effects of 8 factors, comprising parameters of the compartment, fuel and ignition. All factors except the shape of compartment are statistically significant. The contribution of wall linings is greatest when ignition is in a corner and the ventilation opening large.
