Thomas, P.H., 1956. VENTILATION REQUIREMENTS FOR FIRES IN MULTI-STOREY FLATS PART I - SMOKE AND GAS CONCENTRATIONS LIKELY TO OCCUR. Fire Research Notes 274
ABSTRACT
This is a paper prepared for the Means of Escape Working Party of the Department of Health for Scotland which is considering allowing one instead of two staircases for the means of escape from high flats. From the data available on smoke and gas concentrations in a burning building some estimate is made of the air dilution which must be achieved in the common hallway and staircase.
