At the request of the Fire Service Department and E. Division of the Home Office, an analysis has been made of reports of fires involving certain dangerous substances, attended by the N.F.S. and Fire Brigades in the United Kingdom durdrig 1948. The analysis is divided into two parts, the first of which summarises information on fires involving substances listed in the Petroleum (Inflammable Liquids and Other Dangerous Substances) Order 1947, (Statutory Rules and Orders No.1443 of 1947). The second part draws attention to certain fires involving substances not listed in the Order.
