ABSTRACT
Fires occurring between September 1957 and October 1958, inclusive, in which the electric cooking appliances, cookers, fish fryers, kettles and toasters, were involved are examined in detail. A regional pattern of fires involving electric cookers in dwellings is apparent. Electric cookers are compared with gas cookers and several significant features are noted.
