Thomas, P.H., 1965. THE RATE OF TEMPERATURE RISE IN A COMPARTMENT FIRE. Fire Research Notes 595
ABSTRACT
The behaviour of the growing hot layer caused by a fire under a ceiling is discussed theoretically for an idealised situation. The calculations show the value of compartmentation in hastening the operation of fire detectors and provide a meaningful reference standard for the rate of rise in characteristic of a detector.
