ABSTRACT
This is a brief summary of work in progress at the Fire Research Station, Boreham Wood, on the growth and spread of building fires. All but one of the projects are studies of the physical processes of fire spread in a compartment. The remaining project is the beginning of a study of fire spread in buildings as revealed by the statistical data from United Kingdom fire brigade reports.
