Tests described in F.R. 93/1954 show that the use of an ironing board iron rest conforming to B.S. 1959: 1953 may constitute a fire hazard and that in a satisfactory rest there should be no wood beneath the region of the base of the iron. This addendum describes a test on an experimental rest from the results of which more detailed recommendations are made. Examples are given of how these recommendations can be implemented.
