Fire Safety Science Digital Archive

Risk analysis is shown to be an integral part of the process of management. Risk management is introduced and described in accordance with the Australian Standard on Risk Management AS 4360. A computer program currently under development to estimate the risks in apartment buildings is briefly described. Finally, some data relevant to an understanding of the risks due to fire in apartment building is presented and used to obtain some understanding of the effectiveness of fire safety systems in reducing risk.
