Risk Analysis Using The Engineering Method For Building Firesafety

Fitzgerald, R.W., 1986. Risk Analysis Using The Engineering Method For Building Firesafety. Fire Safety Science 1: 993-1002. doi:10.3801/IAFSS.FSS.1-993

ABSTRACT

The analytical techniques incorporated in the engineering method for building fire safety make it possible to evaluate a comparative level of fire safety risk today. At the same time, the structure of the method serves as a bridge between research and practice to facilitate technology translation and communication between those two groups. This paper describes briefly the parts of the engineering method, the quantifications and development activities, and some applications that have been addressed.
